Parts of Northern and Eastern Samar raised to Signal No. 2 caused by Typhoon Ambo
PAGASA gave an update on #AmboPH, 11 pm of Wednesday (May 13). From a trophical storm, Ambo is now a typhoon found 245 km east-north-east of Borongan City or 335 km East of Catarman, Northern Samar.
Ambo’s strength has doubled with a maximum wind of 130 and gust of 160 kilometer per hour.
The movement of Typhoon Ambo is found in the west at 15 kilometer per hour.
Some places are raised to Signal No. 2 including the Northern portion of Eastern Samar (Arte he, Can-avid, Dolores, Jipapad, Maslog, Oras, San Policarpio, Taft) and the Northern portion of Samar ( Calbayog City, Gandara, Matuguinao,Pagsanghan, San Jorge, San Jose De Buan, and Sta. Margarita).
While the rest of Eastern Samar, even the rest of Samar, Biliran, Masbate, Sorsogon, Albay, Catanduanes, Camarines Sur, and Camarines Norte are all placed under Signal No. 1.
Moderate to heavy and even intense rains will be felt on Thursday (May 14) over Eastern Visayas, some parts of Bicol Region, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, and Masbate.
On Friday (May 15), heavy to intense even torrential rains can be experienced over Northern Samar and Bicol Region while moderate to heavy rains are expected over CALABARZON, Aurora, Marinduque, Romblon, and Mindoro Province.
Residents in the area are still advised to be cautious and be updated with the movement of Typhoon Ambo as flooding and landslides can occur in vulnerable areas.
