Elon Musk and his partner Grimes announced the name of their first baby, X Æ A-12. Now, internet is trying to find the meaning behind it.

Memes and various theories have started circulating the social media after the billionaire entrepreneur posted the baby’s name on Twitter.

Some guessed that Musks might have been bluffing, taken that his Twitter page is full of quips and humors mixed with regular Tesla and SpaceX updates.

However, Grimes confirmed that X Æ A-12 was the baby’s official name. In her Twitter account, the musician explained that the ‘X’ refers to “the unknown variable,” while ‘Æ’ is “my elven spelling of Ai (love &/or Artificial intelligence)”.

Meanwhile, the ‘A-12’ is a commemoration to the “precursor to SR-17 (our favourite aircraft). No weapons, no defenses, just speed. Great in battle, but non-violent”.

Grimes added that ‘A’ in ‘A-12’ could also be interpreted as a short for Archangel, her favorite song.

The couple has not yet disclosed how to pronounce the baby’s name.

Grimes had given birth to X Æ A-12 yesterday, May 5. Elon Musk posted on Twitter that both mother and child were “all good.”
