Stephanie Meyer’s Midnight Sun to be released on August 4
Twilight author Stephanie Meyer finally confirmed the release date of the long-awaited companion novel Midnight Sun after 12 years of its conception.
Midnight sun is a companion novel for the hit series Twilight, which features the perspective of the vampire Edward Cullen throughout the events of the series. After the drafts for the novel have been leaked to the Internet in 2008, Meyer decided to release the first 12 chapters for the novel and to indefinitely stop her progress following her visible frustration. Now after 12 years of no updates, the author finally shed some light over the anticipated spin-off.
“It’s a crazy time right now, and I wasn’t sure if it was the right time to put this book out, but some of you have been waiting for just so long. It didn’t seem fair to make you wait anymore”.
Meyer plans to release the story on the 4th of August.
Twilight is a 4-part novel series intended for the Young adult demographic. It features the story of Isabella “Bella” Swan, who’s life turned around after falling in-love with Edward Cullen. The first in the 4 part installment was released in 2005, titled Twilight, followed annually by New Moon, Eclipse, and the finale, Breaking Dawn. Summit Entertainment also adapted the novel into films in 2008, releasing sequels annually and breaking the finale into two parts, Breaking Dawn Part 1 in 2011 and Breaking Dawn Part 2 in 2012.
