Controversial movie “[email protected]*#BOIS” trending after being pirated online
Director Eduardo Roy Jr’s Cinemalaya 2019 entry entitled “F#*@BOIS” took the social media by storm after the entire film was pirated on Youtube.
On April 29, 3 anonymous accounts posted the 2-hour long movie on Youtube. It’s not long before Twitter and Facebook caught up, spreading the pirated copy post by post or via direct messages. Director Roy stated in a message for PEP.ph that the matter is being thoroughly investigated, and even though he is flattered from the positive feedback, people should stop pirating the movie to properly support it.
F#*@BOIS is a tale about two young men wanting to become hit showbiz stars, yet they are entangled into a dark chapter of their lives that doesn’t seem to end. According to the film’s Cinemalaya page, the director based the film on real events and real people from a piece of disturbing news, which netizens rumored out to be the death of Reynaldo Jacaban, a slain barangay captain. The director is yet to confirm this theory.
It is starred by new upcoming celebrities Royce Cabrera and Kokoy de Santos, along with veteran actors Ricky Davao and Yayo Aguila, who made an intimate kissing scene with Cabrera that netizens compared to Angel Aquino and Tony Labrusca’s scene in the movie Glorious.
However, what made the movie sensational is the graphic bed scene between Cabrera, de Santos, and Davao, which featured the actors in an almost bare naked state, and how unusually dark the movie is compared to the mainstream movie content the public currently has.
